Anies Briefs 721 New Headmasters

School leader is a role model, both for its words and acts

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan briefs 721 headmasters from TPA (preschool), TK (kindergarten), SD (elementary), SMP (junior high), SMA (senior high), SLB (special school), up to Public Learning Centers (PKBM) at City Hall, Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

He expects all inaugurated school and PKBM headmasters on Monday (9/10) to be a good leader in their own places, to give a good examples for students and employees, and create a good school environment.

"Headmaster is not only a person that has the highest authority in school, but also a leader. School leader is a role model, both for its words and acts," he stated, Wednesday (9/12).

He also reminds all headmasters to provide a pleasant atmosphere in schools thus school activities can give an optimal result.

"The first thing I see when I visit school is its atmosphere. Its indicator is simple, children are willing to go to school and happy while in school," he conveyed.

He explained, headmasters in Jakarta also has a role in building a good relationship with student's parents and its surrounding environment.

"Invite parents to interact and see what their children's activities in school. Make parents as your closest partners. You also need to hold activities and make those children become a part in their communities," he affirmed.

For information, 721 new headmasters are inaugurated. They are from 2 TPAs, 516 elementary schools, 92 junior high schools, 47 senior high schools, 17 vocational schools, 4 special schools, and 11 Public PKBM schools.

Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah and Acting Jakarta Education Dept. Head (Plt), Bowo Irianto also attend in this inauguration.
